As an agricultural preservation community, Maytag Mountain Ranch reflects the two great, complementary traditions that worked hand in hand to build the American west: independence and cooperation.With prices starting at $895,000, each family owns the ranch, and owns a personal homestead of about 100 acres. Each homestead is an equal partner in the Ranch Owners Association.
With the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains as a backdrop, the ranch consists of 27 carefully planned 100 acre homesteads, each with an identified building envelope of one–half to five acres carefully selected by a team of experts considering sun, wind, topography, privacy, and the ranch ecology. In many cases the building parcels are in the same location as the homesteaders of a 100 years ago. Design guidelines assure that the architectural integrity of the ranch and harmony with the landscape will always be maintained. Fewer than 120 acres of the total 2,953 acres will be impacted by building.
The ranch management plan assures that the land will never be overgrazed or ecologically damaged. Generations to come will appreciate the ranch, and the family time spent there, as a pristine heritage.
LAKE CREEK & DUCKETT CREEK HOMESTEADS:
Lake Creek and Duckett Creek homesteads are located near running water and offer spectacular
views of the Sangre de Cristo range. Some open up to meadows, while others are nestled in aspen or oak.
RANCH CENTRAL HOMESTEADS:
Within walking distance of the lodge, horse barn, and Mow owner cabin, Ranch Central homesteads
are close to the action of the community center. Even so, some have a remote, secluded feeling
while others have meadow views.
SANGRE DE CRISTO HOMESTEADS:
Sangre de Cristo homesteads are close to the mountains. They have a more alpine feeling,
surrounded by oak brush and pinion and offering big valley views.
