Pueblo
Pueblo is located in southern Colorado, 65 miles from Maytag Mountain Ranch. The City of Pueblo is situated on the confluence of the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek. Pueblo is semi-arid with approximately 14 inches of precipitation annually and 300 plus days of sunshine. The city has a population of approximately 100,000. The city offers outdoor recreation, dining and shopping activities in a historic setting.
Pueblo was formerly one of the largest steel-producing cities in the United States. It is now home to a number of electronics and aviation companies and continues to diversify. Pueblo has four Congressional Medal of Honor recipients, more than any other city, earning it the tagline "Home of Heroes." There is a memorial at the Pueblo Convention Center.
This beautiful southern Colorado city also features an extensive trail system, industrial park, and revitalized downtown area. The Historic Arkansas River Project (HARP) is a beautiful river walk that graces the historic Union Avenue district and shows the history of the Pueblo Flood. Pueblo is the home of the Colorado State Fair, held annually in the late summer, and an annual Chili Festival.
Pueblo is also a college town, hosting Colorado State University – Pueblo, it is (part of the Colorado State University (CSU system), with about 6,000 students.
