Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs is the state's second-largest city. Founded in 1871, it has evolved from a quaint Victorian spa resort to a sophisticated city with a charming small town ambiance. Located just 75 miles from Maytag Mountain Ranch, Colorado Springs is just east of Pikes Peak and is home to approximately 350,000 people. The official elevation of Colorado Springs is 6,035 feet but many sites in the city are over 6,100.
With over 50 attractions and ease of access to the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region provide virtually unlimited outdoor activities. In the winter, skiing, snowmobiling, sledding or ice fishing are available within a two hour drive. Golf, fishing, rafting, horseback riding, touring, hiking, mountain biking, and camping are just a few of the outdoor activities that are available during the summer.
