Monarch Ski and Snowboard Area, just an hour drive from the Ranch, boasts an average annual snowfall of 350 inches and features all natural snow. Powder Magazine and Free Skier Magazine have both featured the mountain as a top destination in North America.

For the luxury resort life, the ski areas of Crested Butte, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Vail are all within a 2.5-hour drive north from the Ranch.

For those interested in a different type of Alpine experience, deep snow in the surrounding mountains and old mining roads offer excellent snowmobiling terrain. Snowshoers and cross-country skiers can make first tracks from the Ranch property into the National Forest lands or travel a short distance to the trails of the National Forest.
