RANCH AMENITIES

We built Maytag Mountain Ranch to preserve our western traditions of natural grazing, healthy ecology, and family participation in the ranching lifestyle. We invite our owners to participate in this working cattle ranch, built and managed with sustainable ranching practices to honor its heritage and sustain its value. In return, our owners have access to a valuable amenity package – that helps us run the Ranch and sets Maytag Mountain Ranch apart from other mountain properties for sale in Colorado.

Ranch Buildings

Through our Ranch Owners' Association, our homesteaders have access to $5 million in shared properties that include:

  • Two guest cabins. Each is a two-bedroom, two-bath, luxurious cabin with a fully equipped kitchen, steam shower, fireplace, covered outdoor deck, grill, satellite TV, stereo and Internet access.
  • The Lodge, or "Cookhouse" as its called on the Ranch, is available to all ranch owners and offers spectacular western architecture and dramatic views of the Ranch property and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The beautifully appointed 2,200 square-foot lodge has a gourmet kitchen and 45-seat dining room with wood burning fireplace, library, game room and fully stocked bar. The covered outdoor deck, which steps out to a swimming and fishing pond, is perfect for barbecues. Many of our owners have used the "Cookhouse" to host weddings, family reunions, parties, and company meetings, while others enjoy a casual get-together with their neighbors.

Partnership in a Grass-fed Cattle Herd

An amenity that stands alone from any other for-sale ranch property is our 300-head Red Angus cattle herd. The Ranch Owners’ Association – you – owns the herd, which eat only the grasses that grow in our great valley. The Ranch is USDA Certified Organic, so cattle are never exposed to hormones or antibiotics and live at the Ranch throughout their life.

Owners participate in raising the cattle to the extent they enjoy. Our owners that want to rope and work with the cattle often join our full time cattle manager in his daily activities. No matter what part you play in the raising of the cattle, proceeds from the sale of the profitable herd's grass-finished beef are used to offset operational costs of the Ranch.

Ranch Ownership Without the Work

Three full-time Ranch Managers work the Ranch year round and report to the Ranch Owners' Association. Office personnel as well as a seasonal ranch hand and gardener round out the team that manages and operates the Ranch. Together they do the work – so owners don't have to.

Please contact Maytag Mountain Ranch to learn more about our lifestyle, and how you can become a part of it.
